Job summary

About Time Acoustics in Winter Springs, FL, seeks an Acoustical Ceiling Mechanic for a full-time, on-site role in Orlando. You will install, align, and secure ceiling systems, read blueprints, measure and cut materials, and operate hand and power tools to meet project specs and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong skills in maintenance, preventive maintenance, and maintenance & repair of tools, equipment, and installed ceiling systems.
• Candidates should possess experience working safely with heavy equipment and construction tools commonly used in ceiling installation.
• Candidates should possess troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve issues related to ceiling alignment, structural support, and material defects.
• Candidates should possess ability to read blueprints and construction drawings, accurately measure and cut materials, and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Candidates should possess basic math skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality workmanship and safety standards.
• Candidates should possess physical ability to lift materials, work at heights on ladders or scaffolding, and perform tasks that require standing, bending, and reaching for extended periods.
• Previous experience as an acoustical ceiling mechanic or in commercial construction is preferred; relevant trade certifications or apprenticeship training are beneficial.
• Reliable transportation to job sites in the Orlando area and eligibility to work in the United States are required.

Responsibilities

• Install, align, and secure acoustical ceiling systems, including grid and tiles, per project specs.
• Read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings, measure and cut materials.
• Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
• Coordinate with site supervisors and other trades to maintain schedule.
• Inspect completed work for proper fit and finish; maintain tools and equipment.
• Assist with material loading, site setup, and teardown.
• Troubleshoot issues with existing ceiling systems.
