Acousti Engineering Company of Florida is seeking an Acoustical Ceiling Mechanic for full-time work in Orlando, FL. The role focuses on installing acoustical ceiling grids and tiles on commercial and government projects, with emphasis on accuracy and safety.

The candidate will read blueprints, install runners, perform measurements, and operate access equipment. A high school diploma and 4–5 years of experience are preferred; drug testing and background checks may apply.

Qualifications

• 4–5 years of commercial acoustical ceiling installation experience.
• Familiar with materials, methods, tools, and plans/layouts for ceilings.
• Ability to pass a drug test and background check.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret project blueprints to determine job requirements.
• Inspect surfaces for plumb and level using laser or water level.
• Hang or fasten support wires for ceiling grids.
• Install ceiling main and cross runners with proper alignment.
• Seal joints and nail/screw molding to walls.
• Measure and layout work per blueprints; scribe and cut tiles.
• Operate scaffolds, aerial lifts, ladders and other equipment.
• Use powder-actuated tools and lasers to complete installations.
• Work indoors and outdoors as projects dictate; maintain schedules.
