Job summary

HSBC is seeking a skilled Trade Operations professional to strengthen Currency and Commodity Operations in New York. The role focuses on pre/post-settlement support for Money Markets and Precious Metals in a controlled environment, ensuring accurate processing and robust risk controls.

You will oversee daily processing, collaborate with Product Control, Legal, Compliance and IT, and drive change with minimal disruption. The team values clear communication and proactive risk management.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pre and post-settlement processes in markets operations or trade support.
• Knowledge of Money Market products and/or Precious Metals trade support workflows.
• Strong regulatory and internal control awareness; ability to escalate issues.
• Clear communication with internal and external clients by phone and email.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume environment.
• Proficiency with MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel for reporting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily processing across Precious Metals and Money Market Operations including confirmations, settlements and fails management.
• Assist with supervision of the Precious Metals and Money Markets Operations team including providing coverage in the manager’s absence.
• Deliver tactical and strategic projects with a focus on timely implementation and risk mitigation.
• Resolve processing issues quickly while adhering to regulatory requirements and HSBC internal controls.
• Authorize settlements, confirmations and invoices as required to support accurate trade processing.
• Represent the team on conference calls and in meetings, communicating key risks and issues clearly.
• Partner with stakeholders across MSS including Product Control, Legal, Compliance and IT to support day-to-day delivery.
• Support IT projects and new business objectives to ensure change is implemented on schedule with minimal disruption.
