Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a Precast Concrete Inspector I to perform plant quality control on precast and prestressed concrete. You will inspect forms, reinforcement, and embeds before pours, verify strand tensioning records, run fresh concrete tests, cast cylinders, and inspect finished pieces for dimensions and defects before shipment.

PCI Level I certification or ACI Grade I with plant experience is required, or earned in initial months.

Qualifications

• PCI Level I certification or ACI Grade I with 1+ year plant experience.
• Reads shop drawings and tensioning calculations.
• Willingness to work early production schedules.
• Honest and precise with measurement data.

Responsibilities

• Inspect forms, reinforcement, embeds, and blockouts against shop drawings before each pour.
• Verify strand tensioning elongation and force records against calculated values.
• Run fresh concrete tests (slump, air, temperature, unit weight) and cast cylinders.
• Inspect finished products for dimensions, camber, finish, and defects before shipment.
