Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a Precast Concrete Inspector I to perform plant quality control on precast and prestressed concrete, inspecting forms, reinforcement, and cables before pours. You will run fresh concrete tests, verify strand tensioning records, and inspect finished pieces for dimensions and defects before shipment.

PCI Level I QC certification or ACI Grade I with plant experience is preferred; strong data accuracy and adherence to shop drawings are required for this role in a

Qualifications

• PCI Level I QC certification, or ACI Grade I with precast/prestressed plant experience.
• Reads shop drawings and tensioning calculations; comfortable with early production schedules.
• Honest with numbers and able to document data accurately.

Responsibilities

• Inspect forms, reinforcement, embeds, and blockouts against shop drawings before each pour.
• Verify strand tensioning elongation and force records against calculated values.
• Run fresh concrete tests (slump, air, temperature, unit weight) and cast cylinders per ASTM C31.
• Perform stripping and release strength breaks and record against required values.
• Inspect finished products for dimensions, camber, finish, and defects; tag for shipment or repair.
