Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a Precast Concrete Inspector I to perform plant quality control on precast and prestressed concrete, verifying forms and reinforcement before pours, checking strand tensioning records, and running fresh concrete tests.

You will cast cylinders, monitor curing, and inspect finished pieces for dimensions, camber, finish, and defects before shipment, with attention to shop drawings and specifications guiding every check.

Qualifications

• PCI Level I certification or equivalent qualification.
• Experience with precast or prestressed plant operations beneficial.
• Ability to read shop drawings and tensioning calculations.

Responsibilities

• Inspect forms, reinforcement, embeds, and blockouts against shop drawings before each pour.
• Verify strand tensioning elongation and force records against calculated values.
• Run fresh concrete tests (slump, air, temperature, unit weight) and cast cylinders.
• Inspect finished products for dimensions, camber, finish and defects before shipment.
