Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a Precast Concrete Inspector I to perform plant quality control on precast and prestressed concrete, inspecting forms, reinforcement, and strand tensioning before pours and recording test results.

The role requires PCI Level I certification or ACI Grade I with plant experience, offers an early production schedule, and involves travel between plants on project basis with per diem as assigned.

Qualifications

• PCI Level I certification or ACI Field Testing Grade I with 1+ years in precast plant.
• Ability to read shop drawings and tensioning calculations.
• Willingness to work early production hours.
• Reliable with numbers and records.

Responsibilities

• Inspect forms, reinforcement, embeds, and blockouts against shop drawings before each pour.
• Verify strand tensioning elongation and force records.
• Run fresh concrete tests (slump, air, temperature, unit weight) and cast cylinders per ASTM C31.
• Perform stripping and release strength breaks and record them against required values.
• Inspect finished products for dimensions, camber, finish, and defects and tag for shipment or repair.
