Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a Precast Concrete Inspector I to perform plant quality control on precast and prestressed concrete, including forms, reinforcement, fresh concrete testing, cylinder casting, and final inspection before shipment.

The role requires PCI QC Level I or ACI Field Testing Grade I certification, reads shop drawings, and adapts to early-morning plant hours with occasional travel between plants for project inspections.

Qualifications

• PCI Level I QC certification or equivalent required.
• Ability to read shop drawings and perform tension calculations.
• Comfortable with plant hours and early production schedule.

Responsibilities

• Inspect forms, reinforcement, embeds, and blockouts against shop drawings before pours.
• Verify strand tensioning records against calculated values.
• Run fresh concrete tests (slump, air, temperature, unit weight) and cast cylinders.
• Inspect finished products for dimensions, camber, finish, and defects before shipment.
