Position Overview

Mammoth Precast Solutions is a subsidiary of Kiewit, one of the largest engineering and construction organizations in North America. We provide clients with state-of-the-art operations to ensure the highest quality precast concrete projects.

Location

The location for this position is in our Northern California fabrication facility in Antioch, California.

Responsibilities
  • Develop complete precast prestressed piling shop drawings and design reinforcing to meet EOR design calculations.
  • Review owner plans and specifications to develop a comprehensive understanding of the project; develop plan for the actual construction to serve as basis for the estimate.
  • Review all bid and contract documents.
  • Utilize engineering techniques and procedures to conduct investigations and adhere to standard company policies and procedures.
  • Stay abreast of trends and developments, such as new equipment, methods, and procedures that are developing in the industry.
  • Consult with contractors, owners, and engineers on various problems discovered during bid preparation, design, rates, schedules, etc.
  • Assist in estimating installation and trucking for precast products and develop relationships with subcontractors.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of construction experience with at least 2 years of experience in estimating on precast projects.
  • Degree in engineering or related field is preferred or experience working hands-on in piling/girder fabrication.
  • Extensive knowledge and demonstrated experience with highway, heavy civil, and/or concrete buildings and structures with a focus on precast concrete.
  • Broad knowledge and ability to understand project scheduling, cost control, specifications, and engineering drawings.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office products (e.g., Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with CAD 2D required for detailing.
  • Exceptionally strong attention to detail, oral and written communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Possess strong analytical/mathematical and computer skills.
  • Good attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies.
  • Knowledge of construction means and methods, costs and techniques, construction safety, and current building code requirements.

  • Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment.
  • Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies.
  • Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required.

Base Compensation: $116,000/yr - $121,000/yr

(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location.)
