Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a Precast Concrete Inspector I to perform plant QC on precast and prestressed concrete. Inspect forms and reinforcement pre-pour, verify strand tensioning, run fresh concrete tests, cast cylinders, and inspect finished pieces for dimensions and defects before shipment.

The role requires PCI Level I QC certification or eligibility and ACI Field Testing Grade I with plant experience. Travel between plants is possible for inspections.

Qualifications

• PCI Level I QC certification or equivalent
• Reads shop drawings and tensioning calculations
• Familiarity with plant QC processes and track records

Responsibilities

• Inspect forms, reinforcement, embeds, and blockouts against shop drawings before pours
• Verify strand tensioning elongation and force records
• Run fresh concrete tests (slump, air, temperature, unit weight) and cast cylinders
• Inspect finished products for dimensions, camber, finish, and defects
