Position Overview: The PreAccess Physician Collaboration and Authorization Specialist ensures the financial stability of the organization by coordinating with physician offices and payers to secure necessary authorizations before scheduled services. This role involves maintaining current knowledge of payer requirements, providing exceptional customer service to patients, and ensuring accurate documentation of benefits and authorizations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with physician offices and insurance companies to obtain authorizations, benefits, and eligibility verification.
  • Follow up on authorization requests, escalate peer-to-peer discussions, and ensure all documentation is accurate and complete.
  • Communicate with patients regarding authorization status, financial responsibilities, and rescheduling if necessary.
  • Maintain knowledge of clinical and payor terminology to maximize reimbursement and educate team members on trends and updates.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1 year of experience in Patient Access and customer service
  • Prior collections experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree
