Job summary

POSITION SUMMARY

Pre-weighing, batching, and preparing ingredients to be used for individual batches for a variety of production orders in a variety of production suites.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Material handling of all material used at the facility
  • Weigh, measure, mix, and add material, ingredients and products to ensure conformance to established standards
  • Operate forklift and/or other power industrial trucks in a safe and efficient manner
  • Reconciliation- weigh ingredients, count, tape boxes, sow bags, identify ingredients with labels and partial labels, wrap pallets, identify pallets with a label and store all material in correct storage locations
  • Learn all aspects of the computer system including inventory transfers
  • Learn all aspects of the computer system including production transferring, issuing and inventory accuracy
  • Transfer material as needed in correct storage locations
  • Locate and maintain inventories by moving materials within the inventory system (D365)
  • Maintain records including but not limited to computer, sanitation, production records
  • Correctly complete and submit any inventory discrepancies or damage
  • Follow all Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Safe Quality Foods (SQF) and company procedures
  • Assure adherence to all elements of SQF systems and policies
  • Always perform tasks safely and comply with GMP policies
  • Understands and maintains the HAACP program in detail
  • Adhere and comply with all safety policies including reporting any unsafe acts or near misses
  • Help promote and support company health and safety policy practices and procedures
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted is required
  • Display proper use of hand tools
  • Clean and maintain equipment, using hand tools
  • Able to work with chemicals when wet cleaning a room
  • Ability to work at heights.
  • Comply with all policies and procedures of the Company
  • Solid communication skills required between team members, other shifts and other departments
  • Work collaboratively as a member of a team
  • Attend all company mandated training sessions, which include Safety, Good Manufacturing Practices, etc.
  • Be efficient and meet productivity in all rooms
  • Support other production areas with tasks as required
  • Effectively perform all other duties assigned or directed by management
REQUIREMENTS
  • High School Diploma/GED preferred
  • Basic math, reading and record keeping skills required
  • Ability to maneuver minimum 5-gallon pails and 55-gallon drums with proper material handling equipment
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted
  • Familiarity with inventory systems and bar coding preferred
  • Ability to follow written and flow-charted instructions
WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Production & Warehouse floor
  • Standing, walking, lifting > 80% of the time
