Job summary

Goodkind is seeking a Pre-weigh Associate in the Austin area to accurately weigh and mix raw materials per product specs. This role reports to the Pre-weigh Supervisor and supports batching, documentation, and inventory control in a safety-focused manufacturing environment.

The position requires high school education and strong English communication, with physical ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for long periods. Overtime and weekend work may be required.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety guidelines and participate in safety initiatives.
• Wear PPE when handling chemicals and equipment for weighing and batching.
• Ensure batches align with the production schedule.
• Weigh chemicals and ingredients and document data accurately.
• Maintain and complete batching documentation and records.
• Track and return chemical inventory to the warehouse when not in use.
• Coordinate with warehouse to report discrepancies and shortages.
• Work with maintenance to address equipment issues.
• Collaborate with supervision and R&D on batching procedures.

Reporting to the Pre-weigh Supervisor, the Pre-weigh Associate is responsible for accurately weighing and/or mixing raw materials according to product specifications

What You’ll Do

• Follow all safety guidelines and be an integral part of the safety of the workplace by participating in all safety initiatives.
• Wear all appropriate PPE when working with the chemicals and equipment required for weighing and batching.
• Ensure batches are produced in accordance with the production schedule.
• Weigh individual chemicals and ingredients to the desired weights required by the documentation and document all of the correct information from the weighed ingredients to the batching documentation.
• Keep track of all documentation, fill it out completely, and follow all good documentation practices.
• All chemical inventory should be tracked and returned in a timely manner when not being used back to the warehouse.
• Cooperate with the warehouse and report any material discrepancies and shortages.
• Work with maintenance to identify any malfunctioning or damaged equipment and have it repaired or removed from service.
• Work as a resource with Supervision and Research and Development on any changes that should be made to the batching procedures.
• Any additional responsibilities that supervision requires for the success of the department and company.

• Ability to stand for a significant portion of the shift.
• Must be willing to work overtime and/or weekend work as required by management or the production schedule.
• Must be able to perform fundamental mathematical calculations with and without a calculator.
