Job summary

Ak-Chin Indian Community seeks a Pre-Trial Services Officer to supervise the Pre-Trial Program and the Court Supported Community Service Work Program. You will assess arrestees, perform risk assessments for release, prepare bond reports, and advise the Judge on conditional release and risk factors.

Required are an Associate’s Degree in justice-related field, 2+ years with court or social services settings, and certification readiness for BAC testing; a valid AZ driver’s license is also needed.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Administration of Justice or closely related field is required.
• Defense Tactics Program completion or willingness to complete within the first year.
• Certification on the Intoxilyzer 8000 or current BAC device per departmental policy.
• Valid Arizona driver’s license and insurability under Community’s carrier.
• Extensive background check required.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of defendants awaiting adjudication.
• Interview and gather information on defendants’ background and community ties.
• Prepare bond reports with release recommendations and risk factors.
• Conduct risk/needs assessments and coordinate referrals for health, substance abuse, employment and education.
• Supervise defendants and ensure compliance with release conditions.
• Coordinate and transport participants to work assignments and supervise community service.
• Maintain confidential case files and submit required reports to the Court.

Education
