Gerber Collision & Glass in Indiana is offering a hands-on, entry-level opportunity in auto body repair through a 30-day trial for qualification into an 18-month Technician Development Program. You will work alongside experienced technicians, gaining exposure to dent removal, sanding, and painting, with a focus on safety and quality.

The role emphasizes learning to use tools, vehicle inspections, teamwork, and meeting timelines.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time in the repair of a vehicle.
  • Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Must be able to visually inspect vehicle damage in a variety of weather conditions.
  • Must be able to use hands efficiently in handling vehicle parts.
  • Strong interest in the automotive industry and a desire to learn and develop technical skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Basic knowledge of auto body repair techniques and tools is preferred but not required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

Job Description:

This program offers a valuable opportunity for hands-on experience in the automotive industry, working alongside an experienced technician and gaining insight into various aspects of auto body repair. This will be a 30 day trial to qualify for the 18-month Technician Development Program.

Key Job Responsibilities

Education and/or Experience Required
  • High School Diploma/GED preferred
  • Trade/Vocational school graduates preferred
  • Some on-the-job experience is preferred
  • I-CAR Gold Class preferred

Requirements to Qualify for Entry into TDP
  • Mentor agrees to accept trainee
  • Zero unplanned absences
  • Zero Tardiness violationsHas worked with selected mentor for 90% or more of the 30-day time frame
  • Trainee passes final Pre-TDP assessment
  • Mentor signs training agreement

Compensation Details:

HOURLY

$15.00–$18.00

Compensation is commensurate with skill, education and experience.

Supplemental Pay:

This position may also be eligible for Bonus opportunities tied to individual or business initiatives.
