Gerber Collision & Glass in the United States seeks motivated individuals for a hands‑on trainee program in auto body repair. The role includes a 30‑day trial to qualify for an 18‑month Technician Development Program, under supervision of seasoned technicians.

You’ll learn dent removal, sanding, painting, and safety best practices while contributing to team objectives. The job requires at least 18, with ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred; vocational training valued.
• Some on‑the‑job experience in auto body is a plus.
• I‑CAR Gold Class certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in basic auto body repairs, including dent removal, sanding, and painting under supervision.
• Learn to use and maintain tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
• Participate in vehicle inspections to identify damages and plan repairs.
• Collaborate with teammates to complete repairs within timelines and quality standards.
• Follow safety protocols and keep a clean, organized workspace.

Job Description:

This program offers a valuable opportunity for hands‑on experience in the automotive industry, working alongside an experienced technician and gaining insight into various aspects of auto body repair. This will be a 30 day trial to qualify for the 18‑month Technician Development Program.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Assist in performing basic auto body repairs, including dent removal, sanding, and painting under the supervision of
• experienced technicians.
• Learn to use and maintain tools and equipment properly to ensure safety and efficiency in the workplace.
• Participate in vehicle inspections to identify damages and develop repair plans.
• Collaborate with team members to complete repair projects within specified timelines and quality standards.
• Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Education and/or Experience Required

• High School Diploma/GED preferred
• Trade/Vocational school graduates preferred
• Some on‑job experience is preferred
• I‑CAR Gold Class preferred

Required Skills and Abilities

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time in the repair of a vehicle
• Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
• Must be able to visually inspect vehicle damage in a variety of weather conditions.
• Must be able to use hands efficiently in handling vehicle parts.
• Strong interest in the automotive industry and a desire to learn and develop technical skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team environment
• Basic knowledge of auto body repair techniques and tools is preferred but not required
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Good communication skills and a positive attitude toward learning and problem-solving
• Reliable transportation to commute to the workplace

Requirements to Qualify for Entry into TDP

• Mentor agrees to accept trainee
• Zero unplanned absences
• Zero Tardiness violations
• Has worked with selected mentor for 90% or more of the 30‑day time frame
• Trainee passes final Pre‑TDP assessment
• Mentor signs training agreement

Compensation Details:

$18-$21 / Hour

Compensation is commensurate with skill, education and experience.

Supplemental Pay:

This position may also be eligible for Bonus opportunities tied to individual or business initiatives.
