Job summary

Randstad Digital is seeking a Mechatronics Test Engineer in the Boston area to design and run verification programs for next-generation hardware and software systems. You will transform sensor and actuator data into actionable insights to influence product design, collaborating across engineering teams.

The role is a contract position located in North Reading/Boston area, with standard 8am–5pm hours, and a bachelor's degree is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or equivalent.
• Experience creating test specifications and verification plans for hardware/software systems.
• Ability to develop test strategies for complex mechatronic systems or systems-of-systems.
• Hands-on experience with lab equipment and instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Design, commission, and operate test benches for robotic subsystems, including actuators, batteries, sensors, and cameras.

• Collect, process, and analyze test data to establish core performance metrics.

We are seeking a driven Mechatronics Test Engineer to join our robotics and automation team in North Reading, MA. In this role, you will design, commission, and execute verification and validation test programs for next-generation hardware and software systems. You will play a vital part in transforming raw sensor and actuator measurement data into actionable engineering insights that directly influence product design.

• Design, commission, and operate test benches for robotic subsystems, including actuators, batteries, sensors, and cameras.
• Develop functional specifications, test procedures, and comprehensive verification strategies for complex integrated systems.

qualifications:

Proven experience creating functional specifications, design verification plans, and test procedures for hardware/software systems.

Background in developing test strategies for complex mechatronic systems or systems-of-systems.

Demonstrated ability to define test plans and navigate test development within high-ambiguity, fast-paced environments.

Hands-on experience operating lab equipment, instrumentation, and specialized test rigs.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

Experience managing technical projects and coordinating cross-functional engineering deliverables.

Background in sourcing, selecting, and setting up third-party lab testing equipment.
