Job summary

Scout Motors, based in Columbia, SC, seeks a senior operations and logistics leader to shape pre-series supply chains for assembly and bodyshop. You will build and manage pre-series warehouses, hire staff, and ensure resource readiness to support model launches.

Ideal candidates bring 7+ years in automotive production/logistics, with 5+ years leading teams, plus a degree in engineering. Expect frequent in-person collaboration, KPI-driven planning, and a commitment to safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional experience in automotive production and logistics.
• 5+ years of progressive experience building and managing teams.
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical engineering, or related fields; Masters is a plus.
• Proven experience in Launch Management.
• Strong understanding of Production environment and affinity to work with complex IT-Systems. Proven experience in SAP WMS.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Extensive experience in managing operational teams and external logistic providers.
• Knowledge of Quality Management Systems (IATF, ISO, VDA) and related process requirements.

Responsibilities

• Establish operations related to the pre-Series Logistics Team and pre-series Warehouses in Assembly and Bodyshop, managing the supply of pre-series parts to the production line.
• Establish and manage the pre-Series Logistics warehouse Team and hire according to milestones.
• Assess space and personnel impact of new model introductions and changes; provide resources as needed.
• Operate logistical equipment and implement maintenance, reparation, and emergency concepts in the pre-series warehouse.
• Ensure safety of operations with ecological considerations.
• Execute problem solving processes to avoid production stops due to logistics failures.
• Adhere to IATF/VDA standards; prepare audits within the business area.
• Support process control by planning and implementing KPIs; coordinate problem solving for deviations.
• Analyze and authorize the department budget, develop countermeasures to optimize resources.
