Pre School Paraprofessionals will hold a High School Diploma or GED. Candidates must have at least twelve (12) semester hours of undergraduate or graduate credit in child development/early childhood education, or the equivalent in prior training or experience. Candidates with a minimum of six (6) semester hours of college credit in Early Childhood Education will be considered, an additional six (6) semester hours of college credit in Early Childhood Education must be obtained within a year of hire date.
A Pre School Paraprofessional will work approximately 174 Days per calendar year and up to 37.5 hours per week.

The Paraprofessional works under the direction and supervision of a teacher or other designated member of the school staff. Assists the teacher in the education, care, supervision, and instruction of pre-school aged children, in classrooms, common areas, and playgrounds at a center dedicated to pre-kindergarten children, and in the community.
