Sarasota County Schools is seeking a Pre-School/Child Care Aide for the ESE Pre K program at Cranberry Elementary in Sarasota, FL. This full-time paraprofessional role supports students under a certified staff member, assisting with supervision, activities, meals, and hygiene, while maintaining a safe and supportive classroom environment.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent and appropriate child care credentials.

Qualificações

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • FCCPC, CDA, CCAC, ECPC, AA/AS, or 60-hour credential or Para Pro score needed.
  • Bachelor's in ECE/Child Development preferred but not required.
  • Florida Teaching Certification eligibility in ECE/PreK/Elementary/ESE preferred.
  • Strong communication skills expected.

Responsabilidades

  • Assist in supervision of students as assigned.
  • Maintain a safe, healthy learning environment.
  • Provide developmentally appropriate activities.
  • Assist with meals and snacks.
  • Support personal hygiene needs including diapering and toileting.
  • Communicate effectively with staff and families.
  • Assist with preparation of records and reports.
  • Follow School Board policies and procedures.

REPORTS TO: Principal or Designee JOB GOAL To perform routine tasks independently as assigned under the direction of a certified staff member. SUPERVISES: N/A PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist in the supervision of students as assigned. Maintain a safe, healthy learning environment and supervise children in all learning activities. Plan for and provide developmentally appropriate learning activities. Supervise outdoor activities. Appraise student needs. Assist in serving meals and snacks. Assist children with personal hygiene, including diaper changing and toileting. Establish, where feasible, relationships with families of students. Perform clerical duties as assigned. Assist in creating a safe learning environment. Implement classroom activities as directed. Assist staff members with behavioral management. Assist with the development of instructional materials. Assist with the preparation of accurate records and reports. Assist with assessing student progress. Communicate effectively with staff. Use specialized equipment as required. Intervene, when appropriate, to situations concerning discipline of students. Demonstrate initiative in the performance of assigned responsibilities. Provide for a safe and secure workplace. Model and maintain high ethical standards. Follow attendance, punctuality and proper dress rules. Maintain confidentiality regarding school matters. Maintain positive relationships with staff and vendors. Participate in workshops and training sessions as required. Keep supervisor informed of potential problems or unusual events. Respond to inquiries and concerns in a timely manner. Follow all School Board policies, rules and regulations. Exhibit interpersonal skills to work as an effective team member. Demonstrate support for the School District and its goals and priorities. Sustained focus and attention to detail for extended periods of time. Perform other incidental tasks consistent with the goals and objectives of this position. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 10 pounds of force as needed to move objects. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the District’s approved compensation plan. Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be those established by the District.
