Meet The Team

As a Solution Engineer within Cisco's Global Security Sales Organization (GSSO), you will play a critical role in driving large enterprise deals. This role will focus on executing Cisco's Hybrid Mesh Firewall strategy including Network Security and Zero Trust Segmentation across on-prem, hybrid, and public cloud environments. Cisco Security is consistently launching innovative products in the market that help Cisco's customers adopt a more effective defense against the world's most sophisticated cyber threats.

This role requires a solid understanding of customer value drivers related to network security for modern platform architectures and the related security trends and market landscape. You will apply a hunting mentality to generate pipeline and revenue with a thoughtful go-to-market strategy for new and existing Cisco Security customers.

Your Impact

You are responsible for driving market success and adoption of Cisco's Hybrid Mesh Firewall and Zero Trust Segmentation solutions. This highly visible technical (pre-sales) position supports the Product and Engineering Business Units, Sales and Field Engineering organizations, working directly with them, our partners, and prospective customers.

You will conduct technical presentations, demonstrations, workshops, PoV's to explain features and benefits to customers. You will form relationships with key decision-makers, positioning Cisco solutions to meet their requirements. As an advisor, you will craft architectures and configure products for specific needs, leading all technical aspects of pre-sales activities through to deployment.

You must be highly accomplished in application security concepts, cloud security, and the entire Cloud Application Security Development and Deployment lifecycle. Skills across data center networking, firewalls, Application and Network Segmentation strategies (Macro & Micro), Container Security, and Orchestration platforms are required. Knowledge of networking, APIs, and Network Programmability is essential. You will work with various technologies, requiring strong cross-functional collaboration and consultative skills. Demonstrating solutions and conducting multi-architectural POV tests is a must.

  • You are a self-starter, acting as an industry domain expert, and aim to help Cisco build long-term customer relationships.
  • Act as a high-level escalation resource for the SE team and prospects for technical questions, demos, trials, and pre-sale issues.
  • Deliver technical presentations to prospective C-level and technical decision-makers via web or in-field.
  • Assist with product positioning and customer opportunities as a competitive expert.
  • Provide input for RFIs/RFPs.
  • Support delivery and GTM of new product features.
  • Participate in Early Adoption and Private Preview programs, providing feedback to Product and Engineering teams.
  • Enable and evangelize to Cisco SE and Partner SE teams regionally.
  • Collaborate with Product Management to relay customer feedback and technical requirements.
  • Interact with engineering teams to resolve complex technical issues for high-profile opportunities.
  • Assist in developing GTM tools such as demos, workshops, trials, and POVs, supporting various events.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 5+ years of technical experience as a pre-sales engineer, network support, or application engineering role.
  • 5+ years of enterprise pre-sales experience with network, cloud security, and micro-segmentation products.
  • Strong mastery of LAN, WAN, Cloud Security (L4-L7, FWaaS, IPS, DNS Security, VPN).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Understanding of competitors like Palo Alto Networks, Fortinet, VMware, Illumio, Guardicore, and Cisco differentiators.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and container tech (Kubernetes, Docker).
  • Familiarity with micro-segmentation products and networking protocols.
  • Knowledge of security principles for microservices and serverless architectures.
  • Passion for customer satisfaction and results delivery.
  • Self-starter with a positive attitude and friendly personality.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to prioritize and work independently.
