Job summary

The LEGO Group in Richmond, VA is seeking a Packing Manufacturing Technician to help keep high-speed production lines running safely and efficiently.

You will work with supervisors, team leads and operators to remove obstacles, improve workflow, and support continuous improvement initiatives in a climate-controlled environment.

Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of experience in a manufacturing or high-speed production environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with excellent troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing safety practices and quality standards.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Flexibility to work a 2-2-3 rotating schedule and overtime as business needs require.

Responsibilities

  • Support supervisors by removing obstacles and improving workflow.
  • Monitor lines to ensure safety and quality.
  • Perform root cause analysis and troubleshooting.
  • Participate in safety investigations and corrective actions.
  • Follow safety procedures including LOTO, risk assessments, and emergency procedures.
  • Conduct quality inspections and audits; support quality investigations.
  • Track labor efficiency and material usage.
  • Drive continuous improvement with Lean and 5S.
  • Assist with training and onboarding in production.

Job description

Are you passionate about manufacturing, problem-solving, and working in a fast-paced production environment? Join our team as a Packing Manufacturing Technician, where you'll play a critical role in producing high-quality LEGO products while supporting safety, quality, and production excellence. This position works closely with supervisors, team leads, and production operators to keep manufacturing lines running efficiently while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Pay: $28.93/hour (Weekly Pay) plus 10% Shift Differential Hours: 6:00pm-6:00am on a 2-2-3 schedule.

Responsibilities
  • Support supervisors, team leads, and operators by removing production obstacles and improving workflow.
  • Monitor production lines to ensure safety, quality, and production goals are met.
  • Perform root cause analysis and assist with troubleshooting manufacturing issues.
  • Participate in safety investigations and help implement corrective actions.
  • Promote and maintain compliance with all safety procedures including LOTO, risk assessments, emergency procedures, and proactive safety initiatives.
  • Conduct quality inspections, quality walks, audits, and support product quality investigations.
  • Monitor hourly production performance and elevate issues when necessary.
  • Support production planning by maximizing equipment efficiency and minimizing downtime.
  • Track labor efficiency, production metrics, scrap, and material usage.
  • Execute Autonomous Maintenance activities and Process Confirmation programs.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing and 5S principles.
  • Assist with employee training and onboarding within the production area.
  • Participate in equipment installations, process improvements, and production-related projects.
  • Maintain a collaborative work environment while supporting LEGO's values of imagination, creativity, learning, quality, and caring.
Requirements
  • 2-4 years of experience in a manufacturing or high-speed production environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing safety practices and quality standards.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Basic to intermediate computer skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Positive attitude with a strong work ethic.
  • Flexibility to work a 2-2-3 rotating schedule and overtime as business needs require.
  • Regular, reliable attendance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience with Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or 5S.
  • Experience with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • SAP or other manufacturing systems experience.
  • Spanish language skills are a plus.
