You will conduct comprehensive UVIs, evaluate mechanical and safety conditions, and ensure vehicles meet dealership standards before being prepared for the sales line.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as automotive service technician, B/C technician, or dedicated inspector.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and diagnostic skills.

• Familiarity with dealership management systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough vehicle inspections, including CT road safety checks and 160/162-point pre-owned inspections.
• Evaluate engines, underbody, brakes, suspension, tires, electrical systems, and drivability.
• Document inspection findings and parts requirements in Tekion with clear photos.
• Collaborate with Shop Foreman, Service Manager, and Parts Department to streamline reconditioning and verify part availability.
• Ensure vehicles meet dealership safety, reliability, and presentation standards before frontline release.

Ingersoll Automotive is seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented Pre-Owned Vehicle Inspector / Reconditioning Technician to join our growing service and pre-owned operations. In this role, you will play a critical part in our inventory readiness by performing comprehensive used vehicle inspections (UVIs), evaluating mechanical and safety conditions, and ensuring our pre-owned vehicles meet our rigorous dealership standards before being prepared for the sales line.

Key Responsibilities

• Vehicle Inspection: Conduct thorough vehicle inspections—including CT K-208 road safety checks and detailed 160/162-point pre-owned inspections—on trade-ins, auction purchases, and incoming inventory.
• Mechanical & Safety Evaluation: Inspect engines, underbody components, brakes, suspension, steering, tires, electrical systems, and drivability.
• Documentation & Tekion Compliance: Accurately document all inspection findings, measurements, and parts requirements in Tekion, accompanied by clear photo documentation.
• Workflow Collaboration: Work closely with the Shop Foreman, Service Manager, and Parts Department to streamline reconditioning, verify parts availability, and eliminate bottlenecks in the shop.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure every vehicle meets our dealership standards for safety, reliability, and presentation prior to frontline release.
