Morlen Health invites you to join a Pre-Operative Medicine team in Portland, OR. The role supports two clinics located at Kaiser Sunnyside and Westside Medical Centers, with a 4-day work week at 0.9 FTE or 1.0 FTE options, on-site in Portland.

You will evaluate complex surgical patients, coordinate multidisciplinary care, and ensure medical optimization prior to procedures. Board-certified or eligible in Internal Medicine or a subspecialty is required, with geriatrics fellowship preferred but

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive outpatient pre-operative medical evaluation and consultation for complex patients scheduled for surgery.
• Coordinate care with surgeons, anesthesiologists, primary care physicians and consultants.
• Perform thorough history and physical, order labs and imaging, interpret data and determine medical optimization prior to surgery.

Morlen Health invites you to join a Pre-Operative Medicine team in Portland, OR. Our ideal candidate will have the ability to provide high-quality, comprehensive care. You must excel in evaluating complex patients with multiple co-morbid conditions. Excellent clinical and interpersonal skills are expected. there are currently have two pre-operative medicine clinics at the Kaiser Sunnyside and Westside Medical Centers. You will need to be flexible to support both locations. In this role, you will support a broad scope of patients and may also coordinate/assist with the multi-disciplinary Senior Surgical Care Program.

This is an on-site position located in Portland, OR

What You Can Expect:

• Our Pre-Operative Medicine Team provides comprehensive outpatient medical evaluation and consultation for complex patients scheduled for surgery.
• The team works closely with the surgeons, anesthesiologists, primary care physicians and our consultants to coordinate care prior to surgery.
• The evaluation involves a thorough history and physical, ordering appropriate labs and imaging, interpreting data and determining if patients are medically optimized prior to their surgical procedure.
• An experienced support staff
• Access to a physician-friendly advanced Epic EMR
• NO CALL DUTIES REQUIRED
• .90 FTE 4-day work week or 1.0 FTE schedule options (Full Time)

Minimum Requirements:

• Board Certified or Eligible in Internal Medicine or a Medicine sub-specialty
• Geriatric fellowship training preferred but not required
• At least 5 years of experience is recommended in Internal Medicine or a Medicine sub-specialty.
