Job summary

Atrium Health Lake Norman in Cornelius, NC, seeks a Registered Nurse for PreAnesthesia Testing / Preop to join the Perioperative Services team. You will coordinate patient care using the nursing process, ensuring safety before and after surgery, with a 36-hour work week and rotating 4–9 hour shifts.

Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and care teammates to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care. Weekend and night call rotations are required.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited or approved nursing program.
• Registered Nurse license issued by the state.
• BLS certification for Healthcare Providers (AHA).
• PACU/Critical Care/Emergency Department experience preferred.
• ACLS preferred.

Our team collaborates closely with skilled surgeons, anesthesiologists, and Advocate Health teammates to deliver safe, compassionate, and patient-centered care. We specialize in general surgery, orthopedics, Urology, and Gynecology. You'll be part of a supportive environment that values teamwork, clinical excellence, and continuous learning. We are committed to ensuring every patient receives the highest standard of care from pre-op to recovery.

We're Looking For:

• Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
• Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Previous PACU, Critical Care or Emergency Department experience preferred
• ACLS preferred

What You'll Do:

As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.

Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.
