Position Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Central Sterile Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will ensure all surgical instruments and emergency supplies meet established quality and quantity standards, deliver instruments to surgical suites promptly, decontaminate, disinfect, test, assemble, sterilize, and transport mobile patient equipment, and manage inventory and documentation processes.

Responsibilities

1. Perform decontamination, disinfection, and cleaning of surgical instruments and equipment.
2. Prepare, inspect, assemble, and package surgical instruments for sterilization.
3. Carry out sterilization processes, document procedures, and deliver sterile packages.
4. Maintain accurate records in the instrument tracking system.
5. Follow infection control guidelines during handling, storing, and transporting sterile materials.
6. Participate in quality assurance activities, including random sampling according to protocols.
7. Perform additional duties as assigned, contributing to continuous quality improvement.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Current certification in Central Service by an accredited agency (e.g., IAHCSMM or National Certification for Surgical Technologists).
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions and perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays if necessary.
• Basic computer skills.
• Required License: Central Sterile Technician (HSPA).

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of healthcare products, patient care equipment, surgical instruments, and medical terminology.

Qualified candidates must communicate effectively at all organizational levels.
