Job summary

Boys Town National Research Hospital seeks a registered nurse to join the surgical/operative care team. You will perform comprehensive assessments, develop and adjust patient care plans, and ensure precise documentation while supervising LPNs and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

The role requires state RN licensure, CPR, and on-call availability, with ACLS/PALS within six months. Evening, weekend, and holiday coverage is expected, in a hospital setting supporting children and

Qualifications

RN with current state license required.
CPR (BLS) certification required.
ACLS certification within six months of transfer or hire.
PALS certification within six months of transfer or hire.
Proficiency with computer programs and electronic medical records.
On-call to provide support.
Evenings, weekends and holidays availability required.

Responsibilities

Perform pre-operative physical, cognitive, spiritual and psychosocial assessments.
Formulate and revise care plans based on patient age and development.
Ensure accurate documentation using the nursing process per hospital policy.
Supervise LPNs and sign off charting in medical records.
Collaborate with care team and participate in readiness for Joint Commission visits.
Provide patient education and support to patients and families.
Participate in department performance improvement activities.
