Job summary

University Surgery Center is seeking a Pre-Op/PACU Registered Nurse to provide continuous, quality care for surgical patients. You will monitor patient status, ensure safety and privacy, and assist with procedures including conscious sedation as required.

The role requires an accredited RN education, CA licensure, BLS/ACLS (PALS if needed), and preferably 2 years in PACU/CCU. Strong communication and the ability to prioritize care are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN program; active CA RN license.
• Current BLS; ACLS; PALS if required by the center.
• 2 years PACU/CCU experience preferred.
• Strong communication and nursing judgment.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuity and quality nursing care for all patients with ongoing evaluation of condition.
• Assist physicians in procedure rooms with conscious sedation and sterile technique as needed.
• Care for patients emerging from anesthesia or sedation; assess, plan, implement, and evaluate for discharge readiness.

University Surgery Center is hiring a Pre Op/PACU RN

Pre-Op/PACU Registered Nurse

The PreOp/PACU Registered Nurse provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient's condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times. May assist the physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, including conscious sedation, and utilizing sterile techniques as deemed appropriate. Will provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation; assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing

• Active RN license in the state

• BLS and ACLS Required, PALS if required by the center

• 2 years of experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred

• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment

• Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet the needs of patients and the unit

• Strong communication skills, verbal and written

**Rate range: $36.22 to $45.28 per hour.
Wages are determined based upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, an individual's qualifications and experience.

Required Skills

Candidates must have graduated from an accredited school of nursing and hold a current unrestricted license to practice in the State of CA. Current American Heart BLS certification and experience working as a circulator required. BSN preferred.

Required Experience

• Previous experience working in an ambulatory surgical setting preferred.
