Job summary

i-Health’s Twin Cities Orthopedics division is seeking a Pre-Op/PACU RN to deliver quality care in Pre-Op, PACU, Phase II and the procedure room at the Edina Crosstown location.

This .75 FTE role offers Mon-Fri shifts with flexible start times; includes responsibilities from pre-admission review to post-operative calls, patient education and timely documentation, with ongoing professional development and opportunities to precept.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an NLN accredited school of nursing.
• Current RN licensure in the State of MN or WI multi-state.
• BSN preferred; combination of education and experience considered.
• One year of PACU or critical care nursing experience preferred.
• Current BLS/ACLS/PALS certification required or completed upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Assess holistic patient needs from pre-op through discharge and document findings.
• Review pre-admission screening and H&P for admission.
• Assess needs for admission and recovery supplies/equipment.
• Perform post-operative calls and patient triage as appropriate.
• Provide patient/family education, support, and updates.
• Develop and adjust care plans based on nursing assessment.
• Administer medications per orders and observe aseptic technique.
• Respond to emergencies with appropriate action.
• Maintain documentation per policy and communicate with team.
• Collaborate with disciplines to optimize perioperative outcomes.
