Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Under the supervision and direction of the Vermont Licensed/Registered Nurse, Perioperative Management (ACU, ENDO), Providers and Anesthesia personnel the Perioperative Technician performs various direct and indirect patient care activities in accordance with the Nursing Department policies and procedures.Will assist with the care of any patient and a variety of functions related to patient registration, guest relations, chart prep, scheduling and supply management. Performs a variety of other duties related to preparing the surgical/endoscopy patient and maintaining the ACU/ENDO environment. The Perioperative Technician will assist in setting up and turning over patient rooms, maintain appropriate supplies and equipment for operations, and functions as a liaison with Materials Management.

EDUCATION:

Current LNA license to practice professional nursing in the State of Vermont is required. Current BLS.

EXPERIENCE:

Prior experience as a Licensed Nursing Assistant in a health care setting is preferred. Demonstrated ability to perform basic nursing care skills. Experience with electronic medical documentation in a hospital setting preferred and basic knowledge of medical terminology.
