An established industry player is seeking a Clinical Coordinator to enhance patient care in the Pre-Op/PACU Department. Under the general supervision of the Clinical Director/Manager of the Perioperative Unit, the Clinical Coordinator provides care for patients within the Pre-Op/PACU Department. This position assumes clinical responsibility for the specialty by providing teaching, clinical supervision, and evaluation of other personnel assigned to the area. It is also responsible for duties outlined in the staff registered nurse job description, including professional nursing care and related assistance to patients, as well as providing direction to licensed vocational nurses and non-professional nursing personnel in delivering direct patient care.
MINIMUM EDUCATION:
Graduate of an accredited nursing program with 3 years of recent clinical experience.
MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE:
At least three years of clinical experience, preferably on the unit where the Registered Nurse will take on Clinical Coordinator responsibilities.
REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
Current licensure in Texas as a Registered Nurse. American Heart Association BLS certification required. ACLS, TNCC, or equivalent certification within 6 months.
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:
Demonstrated proficiency in at least five surgical specialties, or experience in PACU or Endoscopy is preferred. Prior coordinating experience is also preferred.
