Job summary

Kingman Regional Medical Center in northwest Arizona seeks a skilled Advanced Practice Provider to join our Pre-Operative Clinic.

You will perform comprehensive pre-operative history and physicals, assess risk, review tests, optimize chronic conditions, and coordinate care with surgeons, anesthesia, and other teams to clear patients for surgery.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
• Current Arizona NP or PA license (or ability to obtain)
• Board certification (FNP, AGACNP, or PA-C)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive pre-operative history and physical examinations
• Assess and stratify surgical risk, including cardiac and pulmonary risk evaluation
• Order, review, and interpret diagnostic tests (labs, EKGs, imaging, etc.)
• Optimize chronic medical conditions prior to surgery
• Coordinate patient care with primary care providers, specialists, and surgical teams
• Develop and implement evidence-based pre-operative care plans
• Educate patients on surgical preparation, medication management, and post-operative expectations
• Ensure all required documentation, consents, and clearances are completed prior to surgery
• Collaborate with anesthesia providers regarding surgical readiness
• Document all patient encounters accurately and timely in the electronic medical record
• Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
