Job summary

YMCA of Central Maryland is seeking a Pre Lifeguard associate to support safety, cleanliness and pool operations under the Swim Director. You will complete required training and certifications to become a certified lifeguard, assisting with member needs and ensuring a safe pool deck environment.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Swim Director, the Pre Lifeguard associate is responsible for successfully completing all required training and certifications to become a certified lifeguard. This position is also responsible for assisting with safety, cleanliness and operation of the swimming pool during operating hours. The primary function of the Pre- Lifeguard associate will be general support to maintain safety for our members on the pool deck.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Foster an environment that is positive and motivating to families, children, and peers.
• Effectively coordinate facility usage for assigned programs and activities
• Supports center's annual support campaign and provide leadership support to associate giving and engagement
• Ability to work with diverse population, all ages, genders, and sexual orientations
• Attend and actively participate in all meetings as assigned
• Incorporate the four character values of the YMCA: Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility and adhere to the YCM Code of Conduct
• Communicate the Y mission and objectives to the community.
• Assist in all other areas as assigned.
