Healthy Kids Programs is seeking Part-Time, non-exempt Pre-Kindergarten Teachers for three classrooms at Beekman Elementary School, Poughquag, NY. Location is on-site with hours 8:30 AM – 2:15 PM, Monday to Friday, aligned with the Arlington Central School District calendar.

Pay ranges from $32.00 to $34.00 per hour. The role emphasizes child-centered learning, literacy and numeracy, social-emotional growth, and collaboration with families and colleagues.

Qualifications

• Currently holds a NYS teaching certificate valid for early childhood grades.
• Bachelor’s degree required; a Master’s degree is preferred.
• Experience teaching preschool-age children.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement a developmentally appropriate Pre-K program aligned with UPK district requirements.
• Design and teach culturally responsive lessons.
• Assess, track, and provide timely feedback on student progress and development.
• Use positive, age-appropriate guidance strategies.
• Build strong relationships with staff and families through professional communication and engagement.
• Collaborate with teacher assistants and other team members.
• Design classroom environments following ECERS guidelines.
• Develop literacy and math-focused activities using the Creative Curriculum.
• Participate in professional development and program evaluation.

Healthy Kids Programs provides childcare for school-age children (ages 3–12) enrolled in our program on the days and during the hours you work. This role provides four-year-olds with a high-quality early learning experience that builds a strong foundation for Kindergarten. Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Current NYS teaching certificate valid for service in the early childhood grades
• Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred)
• Experience teaching preschool-age children

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

To be qualified as a Pre-K teacher, candidates must meet ONE of the following qualification options:
(a) New York State Certification Birth–Grade 2
(b) New York State Certification N–6
(c) New York State Certification P, K, 1–6
(d) Bachelor’s Degree & approved 5-Year Plan

• You have medical clearance to perform all job duties and are free from communicable diseases, including tuberculosis (TB).
• You bring a warm, friendly, and positive attitude, with strong interpersonal skills when working with children, parents, and team members. You are professional, dependable, and punctual.
• You are able to meet the physical demands of the role, including bending, stretching, lifting, and carrying up to 50 pounds, and actively engaging with energetic children.
