School District Fremont RE-1 in Canon City, Colorado, seeks a Part-time Transportation Support Aide for the 2026-2027 school year. You will assist the bus driver and transportation team, providing specialized support for Pre-K students in line with IEP requirements.

The role involves daily bus operations, safety inspections, and coordinating with the Manager of Transportation. Mandt training is required or will be provided; reliability and teamwork are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Must be Mandt-trained (or willing to be trained) as required by the District.
• Ability to implement IEP requirements and support students with special needs.

Responsabilités

• Operate school buses in accordance with district, state, and federal regulations and CDE rules.
• Perform pre- and post-route safety inspections on vehicles and ensure vehicle cleanliness.
• Maintain student conduct on the bus and promote safety for all students.
• Assist students with boarding and exiting the bus.
• Maintain strict confidentiality with all special education student information.
• Follow IEP-driven instructional programs as directed by supervising teachers.
• Safely maneuver and secure wheelchairs, assisting students with safe transfer to and from wheelchairs as needed.
• Complete required paperwork and electronic documentation promptly.
• Coordinate with the Manager of Transportation and Transportation Secretary to maintain accurate records.
• Report all accidents/incidents to transportation management immediately.
• Attend district-required training programs, meetings, and in-services.
• Uphold district policies, including school vehicle passenger rules.
• Administer first aid as necessary and ensure safe transfer procedures for students in wheelchairs.
• Maintain confidentiality for special education students and follow IEP-specific instructional programs as directed.
• Proficient with standard office and specialized equipment needed for individual student accommodations.
• Basic technology skills as directed by the District for effective communication and recordkeeping.
