Job summary

EARLY LEARNING CENTER in Springfield, Illinois, is seeking a Pre-Kindergarten Teacher for a 180-day contract. The role reports to the Building Principal and requires an Illinois Professional Educators License with Early Childhood endorsement, and ideally Early Childhood Special Education endorsement.

The successful candidate will foster an inclusive PK learning environment, implement approved PK curriculum, assess student progress, and collaborate on school improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Illinois Professional Educators License required; Early Childhood license preferred for dual certification
• Endorsement in Early Childhood Special Education preferred; may consider 1-year hire without endorsement
• Strong organizational and communication skills are essential

Responsibilities

• Provide an inclusive learning environment compliant with PK guidelines
• Plan and implement PK instruction aligned with approved curriculum
• Establish and apply appropriate student assessment procedures
• Maintain classroom climate with behavior management and SEL supports
• Provide curricular and behavioral support per IEPs
• Participate in staff development activities
• Contribute to school improvement initiatives
• Attend district in-services for curriculum and instructional growth
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, staff, and the public
• Perform other duties as assigned
