Job summary

The YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago is hiring a part-time Pre-K Teacher Aide for our Head Start program. The Pre-K Teacher Aide provides support to the teaching team in planning and implementing learning experiences for children, maintaining the classroom, and managing children in accordance with the YMCA goals and curriculum plan.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma with 12 college credit hours in Early Childhood Education.
• Ability to read, comprehend and interpret documents.
• Experience working with children is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support plans of an effective child development program to meet each child's needs.
• Ensure safety through supervision, proper space arrangement, and regular drills.
• Assist with routines (diapering, toilet training, handwashing, meals, napping, transitions).
• Coordinate center plans for meeting and retaining children and families, including enrollment and attendance.
• Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in line with early childhood standards.
