Job summary

Union County Community Action, Inc. is seeking a dedicated NC Pre-K Teacher to lead classrooms for preschoolers in Wadesboro, NC. You will create engaging lessons that foster school readiness while coordinating with families to support student success.

The role offers a Monday–Friday schedule from 7:30am to 3:30pm (40 hours/week) with competitive benefits; NC Pre-K licensure is required or in progress, along with CPR/First Aid certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field is required.
• NC Pre-K qualifications and licensure are required by NC Pre-K.
• CPR and First Aid certification required or ability to obtain.
• Experience in preschool or Pre-K settings preferred.
• Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screening and TB test; random screenings may occur.

• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum.
• Support children’s academic, social, and emotional growth.
• Assess and monitor children’s developmental progress.
• Maintain classroom records and documentation.
• Partner with families to support student success.

In addition to UCCA's competitive pay and benefits, eligible early childhood educators may qualify for NC Early Years supplemental compensation programs, including STEP$ and WAGE$, which recognize education, experience, and commitment to North Carolina's early childhood workforce.

Eligibility, funding, program availability, and award amounts are determined by NC Early Years and may vary by county.

• Valid driver’s license required
• Must pass a pre-employment physical, drug screening and TB test, and must submit to random drug screenings.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to actively supervise preschool-aged children, move throughout classroom and outdoor learning environments, and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds
