Job summary

Child Care Resources Inc. in Athens, TN is seeking a dedicated Pre-K Teacher to support the development of 3–5 year olds through a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom that fosters social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth.

You will plan play-based lessons aligned with state standards, monitor progress with portfolios, and maintain open communication with families while preparing children for kindergarten in a full-time schedule (Mon–Fri 7:30am–4:30pm).

Qualifications

• Experience with children aged 3–5 in a structured educational setting.
• Ability to pass state background checks, fingerprinting, and medical clearances.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with families and staff.

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Pre-K Teacher to join our early childhood education team in Athens, TN. In this role, you will create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment that fosters the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development of young learners. You will play a pivotal role in preparing children for kindergarten by implementing an engaging curriculum that sparks curiosity and a lifelong love for learning.

Monday through Friday 7:30am - 4:30pm

What You'll Do

• Plan and execute developmentally appropriate, play-based lesson plans aligned with Tennessee early learning standards.
• Provide a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment that accommodates diverse learning styles.
• Assess and monitor each child's progress, maintaining detailed portfolios to track developmental milestones.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding their child’s growth, daily activities, and behavioral development.
• Foster a positive classroom culture through effective, gentle guidance and age-appropriate behavior management techniques.

Requirements

• Proven experience working with children aged 3 to 5 years old in a structured educational setting.
• Ability to pass all background checks, fingerprinting, and medical clearances required by state licensing.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills to work effectively with families and staff.

And a High School Diploma

Nice To Have

• Valid certification in Pediatric CPR and First Aid.
• Experience working with English Language Learners (ELL) or children with special needs.
• Familiarity with local Athens community resources and early childhood support networks.
• Previous experience utilizing digital classroom management and parent communication apps.

Minimum Education : High School or Equivalent
