Job summary

The Huntsville School District is seeking a Paraprofessional to assist teachers and administrators in delivering a quality instructional program. You will work closely with students of varying abilities, build rapport with families, and support a student-centered environment.

Applicants should have a High School Diploma or equivalent and meet the paraprofessional qualification: 60 college hours or passing scores on the paraprofessional assessment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 60 college hours or passing scores on paraprofessional assessment required.

Responsibilities

• Observe assigned work hours.
• Receive and provide support to students individually or in small groups to reinforce learning.
• Assist students with exceptionalities, including those with 504 Plans or IEPs, and non-English-speaking students.
• Assist in maintaining students with special needs in an integrated setting as determined by the IEP team.
• Help transport materials or supplies as needed.
• Assist students with personal and physical needs as directed by the supervising teacher.
• Serve as a source of information for substitute teachers.
• Participate in staff development opportunities provided by the district.
• Demonstrate a positive attitude toward work assignments.
• Other duties may be assigned.
