Qualifications

• Completion of two years of college; associate or bachelor degree preferred.
• Proficiency in spoken and written communication; bilingual ability preferred.

• Familiarity with equity and inclusion frameworks and non-discriminatory practices.
• Ability to learn developmentally appropriate strategies for vocabulary, listening, and early literacy.

Responsibilities

• Provides language support in assigned classrooms according to a coordinated schedule.
• Collaborates with teachers to plan language support aligned with themes and student needs.
• May substitute for teachers when needed.
• Works with individual students and small groups to strengthen vocabulary and early literacy.
• Embeds language practice in centers, books, songs, meals, and routines.
• Coordinates with teachers and specialists to use recommended supports consistently.
• Records progress information accurately and maintains confidentiality.
