Qualifications

• Maryland MSDE P-3 Certification (PreK–3 Professional License)
• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
• Experience teaching Pre-K or early elementary students
• Ability to meet LEA-aligned instructional and documentation standards

Responsibilities

• Manage classroom operations in compliance with Office of Child Care regulations, MSDE/Blueprint requirements, and company policies.
• Create a welcoming, safe, and engaging learning environment for children and families.
• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate instruction aligned with Maryland Early Learning Standards (minimum 180 instructional days).
• Maintain curriculum fidelity and use evidence-based instructional practices; differentiate to meet individual needs.
• Conduct ongoing assessments and progress monitoring; maintain accurate student records and required documentation.
• Supervise children using positive guidance and effective classroom management strategies.
• Ensure classroom cleanliness, organization, safety, and updated displays/parent communication boards.
• Complete all required classroom paperwork (daily reports, attendance, incident reports, grant documentation).
• Provide direction and support to the Assistant Teacher to ensure smooth classroom operations.
• Communicate professionally and effectively with families and school leadership.
• Attend required meetings, trainings, and school events; participate in ongoing professional development and certification requirements.
