Job summary

New Castle Community School Corporation is seeking individuals to provide instructional support in a state-licensed preschool program. The role involves closely working with students, supervising instruction, and extending learning beyond teacher presentations.

Responsibilities include guiding small groups, keeping student records, administering assessments, and maintaining positive relations with students and staff. Schedule runs Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.

• Listens to students in recitation, reading, and other curriculum tasks by guiding and helping them.
• Accompanies students to whom assigned when trips to the office or to the school nurse are necessary.
• Establishes as fully as possible a supportive and sympathetic relationship with the students without fostering or encouraging intense emotional involvement.
• Checks students' work as directed.
• Administers tests and individualized assessments.
• Assists with pupil records.
• Makes and files copies.
• Use and care of equipment and facilities.
• Maintains positive public relations.
• Attendance is a priority and critical for the success of students.
• Other duties as assigned by supervising teacher or principal.

Position Details

• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
• Starting Pay: $13.50 per hour $14.00 per hour
• Pre-Employment Requirements:
  • Digital fingerprinting (approximately $37; reimbursed after 30 days of successful employment)
  • Urine drug screen (covered by the school corporation)
  • Background check required by the New Castle Community School Corporation
• Completion of required online modules for working in a state-licensed preschool program within 90 days of hire
