Job summary

Darlington County School District seeks a Teacher Assistant (Exceptional Education Pre-K) at Black Creek Elementary School in Darlington, SC. The role is a 190-day position with a base salary of $21,874, contingent on education and ParaPro/WIN credentials.

The assistant will support classroom instruction, student supervision, and daily care under the Principal's supervision. Qualifications include 60 academic credit hours or an associate degree, or a high school diploma with Ready to Work

Qualifications

• Minimum of sixty (60) academic credit hours from an accredited institution of higher education
• An associate degree (or higher)
• High School Diploma or the equivalent AND Ready to Work Credentials or WIN/Parapro requirements

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom teaching assistance
• Provide supervision of students at all times
• Maintain a positive classroom environment
• Provide students with daily care (e.g. toileting, diapering, feeding) as needed
• Adhere to district dress code policies
• Maintain confidentiality regarding students and school records
• Positively supports all facets of student growth and development
• Must be able to lift a minimum of fifty pounds
• Perform other duties as assigned
