Job summary

Waukegan Community Unit School District No. 60 seeks a dedicated educational assistant at Greenwood Elementary to support students with disabilities under licensed teachers. You will prepare materials, assist with instruction, and help create an inclusive classroom.

Qualifications

• Certification as a Professional Educator licensure is required.
• Endorsement for paraprofessional work with students from Pre-K to age 21.
• Experience in elementary education preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the instruction of students with disabilities under the direct supervision of a certified teacher.
• Prepare materials for various levels of instruction in collaboration with the teacher.
• Assist with provided supplemental and follow-up activities to instructional content.
• Maintain a good rapport with parents/guardians and staff.
• Supervise lunch/recess and help enforce classroom rules and behavior plans.
