QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Experience in Food Service preferred
WORK WEEK:
- Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 7:00 AM – 2:30 PM; Tuesday & Thursday: 7:00 AM – 3:15 PM
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
- Participate in required meetings and training, which may involve out-of-town travel.
- Read menus to estimate food requirements according to CACFP standards and complete food orders or purchase from vendors. Properly store food and supplies.
- Check and record temperatures of milk coolers, freezers, and refrigerators daily; adjust thermostats to maintain proper temperatures.
- Measure and mix ingredients using appropriate kitchen utensils and equipment.
- Bake, roast, broil, and steam foods as required.
- Ensure food safety by using calibrated thermometers to verify proper food temperatures.
- Portion food into serving plates and bowls for family-style meals.
- Make substitutions as needed according to CACFP regulations.
- Record menu changes accurately.
- Model healthy eating habits and assist children as needed.
- Prepare meals for children with special dietary needs.
- Clean and sanitize kitchen and workspace before and after food service.
- Dispose of garbage properly.
- Vacuum and sweep entryways and classrooms.
- Disinfect bathrooms and mop floors regularly.
- Complete CACFP documentation and logs accurately.
- Report Non-Federal In-Kind contributions.
- Serve as a resource for staff training, client services, and outreach within Blueprints Service Areas.
