Job summary

Sylvania is seeking a Pre-Kindergarten Instructional Aide to support a certified teacher in a dynamic early childhood program. The role begins in October and involves assisting with lessons, material prep, and supervising students to create a safe, engaging learning environment.

You will work closely with a dedicated PreK Teacher, help reinforce foundational skills, and participate in daily routines such as transitions, lunch, and dismissal. Strong communication and patience are essential.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid IL paraprofessional license or equivalent.
• Minimum of 60 college credit hours or an Associate Degree.
• Experience working with children is desirable.
• Excellent oral and written communication with teachers and staff.
• Ability to maintain professional relationships with students and parents.

Responsibilities

• Assist the certified Prekindergarten Teacher with daily lessons and materials.
• Supervise students during instructional and non-instructional times.
• Work with small groups or one-on-one to reinforce concepts.
• Help maintain a clean, organized classroom and manage supplies.
• Support positive behavior and social-emotional learning.
• Provide personal care assistance as needed and communicate progress.
