Healthy Kids Programs is hiring a School-Age Childcare Assistant for the Before and After School Program at Arthur S. May School in Poughkeepsie, NY. The role runs during the school year, following the school calendar, with morning and/or afternoon shifts.

The position is part-time, non-exempt, and offers employer-paid childcare for children ages 5–12, plus benefits like Telehealth, vision and dental coverage, and 401(k). Prior experience or a diploma is valued.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or equivalent or 1 year experience with children (under 13).
• Positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, reliability and professionalism expected.
• Must be physically able to bend, lift, and engage with children up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate activities following the Healthy Kids curriculum, including fitness, STEAM, academics, art, and homework help.
• Provide a safe, healthy, and fun environment and serve as a positive role model.
• Adhere to state guidelines, program policies, and host school rules.
• Assist with attendance, registration, and staffing tasks as needed.

Schedule: Follows the school calendar
Morning Program: 6:30 AM - 8:45 AM
Afternoon Program: 2:00 PM - 6:30 PM

Position Responsibilities

• Observe state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies.
• Support program operations, which may include attendance records, registration, and staffing responsibilities.

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or equivalent, OR at least 1 year of experience working with children under the age of 13.
• Required health clearance, including TB screening, in accordance with state regulations.
• Must demonstrate a positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and reliability.
• Physically able to bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds while actively engaging with children throughout the day.
