Responsibilities

• Encourage students to maintain classroom behavior standards.
• Guide learning toward curriculum goals with clear objectives communicated to students.
• Use varied instructional techniques and media suited to student needs.
• Implement the district’s educational philosophy and instructional goals through teaching.
• Regularly assess student accomplishments and provide progress reports.
• Refer students for evaluation by district specialists as needed.
• Protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities with necessary precautions.
• Maintain accurate and complete records as required by law and district policies.
• Assist administration in enforcing student life and conduct policies; develop behavior rules.
• Be available to students and parents for education-related purposes when required.
• Plan and supervise assignments for teacher aides and volunteers; evaluate their performance.
• Maintain and improve professional competence through staff development.
• Attend staff meetings, serve on committees, and maintain professional relationships with colleagues.
• Establish and maintain open communication with students, parents, and community members.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
