Job summary

The Goddard School of Raleigh (Brier Creek), NC is seeking an Assistant Teacher to support the Lead Teacher in delivering age-appropriate lessons and fostering a warm, safe classroom. The role offers a supportive and fun workplace in a premium educational setting.

You will help nurture children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development through hands-on activities, while communicating with families about progress and daily activities, in alignment with licensing standards.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; ECE degree preferred.
  • Experience with young children in licensed childcare or preschool setting.
  • Empathy and compassion for young children.
  • Ability to work productively without supervision.
  • Basic understanding of child development.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must pass state background checks and meet education/credential requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing age-appropriate lesson plans.
  • Support children’s social, emotional, cognitive and physical development through active engagement and positive interactions.
  • Prepare classroom materials and ensure a safe, clean and inviting learning environment.
  • Supervise and provide individualized support to children and foster a sense of belonging.
  • Assist in communicating with families about their child’s progress and daily activities.
  • Adhere to health and safety guidelines and licensing regulations to ensure a secure environment.
  • Support daily care routines and tasks to promote a nurturing learning environment.
